Changeover Cleaning Procedure - Living with Covid-19
The changeover cleaning procedure in our holiday home is always thorough, and during the Covid-19 pandemic we introduced some additional processes to ensure the cottage is as clean as possible. We are continuing with the following measures despite a general relaxation of coronavirus rules.
*Windows are opened to encourage an air flow through the cottage for a minimum of 30 minutes before the cleaning process is started.
*Hard surfaces are cleaned with a combined detergent/disinfectant shown to kill enveloped viruses like coronavirus.
*Bedlinen, towels, bath mats, tea towels and oven gloves are laundered at 60°c, a temperature which will kill coronaviruses. This is standard procedure even during non-coronavirus times.
*After vacuuming, hard floors are cleaned using a steam mop and detergent; again this is part of our standard cleaning procedure.
*Before cleaning, we use lateral flow tests to check our own virus status, and wear PPE (mask, gloves & apron) when cleaning the cottage.
The additional processes mean that we have extended the check-in time to 5pm.
Check-out time is unchanged, at 10am.
How you can help us:
*Use the hand sanitiser provided and/or wash your hands often.
*Continue to practice social distancing and consider continuing to wear face coverings in busy shops and enclosed areas when out and about.
*Clean surfaces with the anti-viral spray cleaner provided. We also supply a small amount of disposable masks and gloves if you need them during your stay.
*Before departure, strip the beds (not mattress or pillow protectors – we will remove these ourselves) and place the bedlinen with towels, bath mats, tea towels and oven gloves in the laundry bags provided.
*Plan your departure to leave promptly by 10am. The additional processes mean that the cleaning takes longer, so we appreciate it when guests depart promptly.
